Yankees Team Total 309

Total Yankee Win Shares For the Older players we are discussing.

Jeter 28
A rod 23
Posada 19
Mo 15
Burnett 12
Pettitte 11

Total = 108

So 35% of our winning last year was caused by players who you can be legitmately concerned with some drop off due to age and or injury.

We also swapped

Matsui 20

For

Johnson 18

If you add in that production.

128 of 309 Win Shares are in play or 41.4%

So over 40% of the teams production is wrapped up in players who are either injury risks or on the wrong side of 33 or both.

That is not to say that the Yankees won't win, it is to demonstrate how many things went 100% right last season for us too win.

I get what your saying, there are health risks, but find me a team that doesn't have them. I also realize a lot went right for us last year, but what made that more likely is that of the few older guys we have now, they are relatively healthy older guys that don't go down all that often with injury. Are they more likely to go down than the younger guys? Sure they're old, of course it's a possibility. But my point is simply that this notion that the team is old is incorrect, bc were not. Were not really young either though, which is part of why we're good, we're in our prime. Which is something every team strives for.

Also, a question with the math, I was under the impression that the total of win shares totaled the amount of wins from last season, in this case 103, where does 309 come from and how does tha affect the equation?

Each Win is worth 3 win shares. So 103 *3 =309

Also in soccer the fans are the main part of the game, between the riots, shootings and destroying the stadiums.

Come to think about it, it is almost like playing in Philadelphia.

Why though, why isn't it one? What's the idea behind that, that or every win there are three teammates responsible for it? The responsibility is distributed evenly? Or, I don't even know what an alternative would be for me to suggest, I'd love to know how that works

To be frank. I'm interested too. Wats the "long story short" version on multiplying the wins by 3? 3 is a magic number?
